Our food
Sol Y Sombra is about more than tapas. It is about good food, good company and those moments when nobody is quite ready to leave the table.
We serve relaxed, flavour-packed tapas made for sharing, from familiar favourites to dishes you may not have tried before.
No fuss, no tiny portions and nothing needlessly complicated.
Just great ingredients, proper Spanish flavours and food that brings people together.
Inspired by Spain. Made in Nottingham.
Simple ingredients. Big flavours. And a relaxed pace.
From our deliciously moreish patatas bravas, to our addictive sticky chorizo in honey – you’ll experience bursts of rich flavours that you’ll crave more of – and we make no apologies for that!
A well-deserved treat for your tastebuds.
Some of our favourite dishes
Our menu is never set in stone - we like to flex our food based on what we fancy cooking on any particular day.
Here are some of our favourite dishes to give you an idea of what to expect.
Check out our upcoming events popups for popup-specific menus.

Solomillo al AjilloSucculently pork fillet cooked in a delicious garlic and white wine sauce. Rich, savoury and deeply satisfying - you're going to love this one!
-
Chorizo y MielSpanish chorizo drizzled in honey and charred for that sticky, caramelised, succulent perfection we know you'll crave more of.
-
Patatas BravasCrisp, golden potatoes piled with our bold bravas sauce . Smoky, punchy and properly comforting, with just enough heat to keep you coming back.
Why not perfect this dish with a dollop of aioli (optional). -
Padrón PeppersWe know this one will be a firm favourite!
Padrón peppers blistered over high heat, then finished with olive oil and sea salt. Smoky, moreish and made for grazing - to die for! -
Pan con TomateToasted bread topped with ripe tomato, extra virgin olive oil and sea salt. Fresh, simple and full of sunshine.
Our food is for sharing
We think you can tell a lot about a person by whether they share their food or not.
If like Joey Tribbiani you don’t like to share food, then Sol Y Sombra, well, tapas in its entirety, is absolutely not for you.
We strongly encourage you buy a sandwich from somewhere instead!
